The arts

Okay so I'm currently taking a humanities class and I took one last year in high school and loved the class so I decided to take another one. To my surprise I hate this class! I don't mind learning about paintings, architecture, and music; I actually find it pretty interesting. But it is just the way my teacher teaches it frustrates the hell out of me. We barely have any quizzes and then she just gives us one huge exam. Exams usually aren't bad but when they are over 6 chapters and deal with some many little bits of information that need to be memorized let alone be able to tie together all the concepts and be able to analyze art. I like humanities just not the way its being taught. Basically an overload of information since the teacher is working on her thesis so shes already busy enough as it is. Although i don't like her teaching methods I still managed to rape on her exam by the use of extensive studying. One thing that this teacher has taught me is that the way people analyze art is seriously retarded. Just the way they describe the picture or the techniques used from an artist 100s of years ago seems unrealistic. I can't picture them having thought about the picture in such detail and emotion. Aside from the visual art aspect; we're starting to learn about music which is interesting because we are learning the old school music like medieval times which is interesting because I have no clue what they are saying but it sounds fancy. And just like before, the teacher is cramming information and songs to memorize already. Hopefully I do even better on this music part because I already can memorize songs pretty easily so hopefully my brain won't fail me for the exam in the near future.
